Frequently Asked Questions

Our Toilet Paper

Why is your product more than expensive than the supermarket TP?

We are actually on closer than you think to your common brands. We work out our costs by the price per 100 sheets. Most brands offer much smaller rolls, generally around 180 sheets which don't go as far!

At BambooValley we offer 300 sheets per roll so when we do the calculations we actually end up only a tiny bit more.

Some quick math :)

Price / Number of Rolls / Total Sheets divide 100

Bamboo Valley - Our subscribed price

27.99 / 24 / 3 = 0.38c

Other Brands - 3Ply but only offering 180 sheets

15.00 / 24 / 1.8 = 0.35c

Not bad, considering our TP is tree free and each box helps our environment.

Is your TP safe for Septic Tanks?

Our products have been tested for disintegration and how well they flush. As long as you don't have an overally sensitive system then you should be fine. If you do, and you know that your system doesn't play nice with 3ply then we'd recommend contacting your service provider just to be sure.

Is there any plastic?

We've removed the traditional plastic wrapping, delivering this to you in a cardboard box, however we do still use standard cellotape therefore cannot say its 100% plastic free. We are working on alternatives though!

Why do you individually wrap your TP?

The easy answer to this question is its the most hygienic way we can present these for you. It repels moisture and keeps our TP clean. Plus it gives your bathroom some more character!

Can I purchase smaller quantities?

Hopefully sometime soon, if we get enough interest we could look at reducing the package sizes.

What about the core and wrapper, are these sustainable?

Absolutely, both the wrapper and core are manufactured from recylced paper or cardboard. The wrapper is biodegradable and the core is able to be recycled.

Whats FSC mean?

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. Since its foundation in 1994, FSC has grown to become the world’s most respected and widespread forest certification system.

Why Bamboo?

After learning that 15% of deforestation globally is caused by TP production we decided to look into what other options there could be.

Bamboo is technically classed as a grass, therefore no trees need to be cut down. Some cool facts about Bamboo and why we believe that Bamboo is the future of TP.

  • Bamboo grows rapidly. Some species can grow up to 3.81cm an hour!
  • Bamboo can self-regenerate from its own root system, therefore can continually be re-harvested from the same root system.
  • Bamboo can completely regrow within 3years whilst most trees once cut never regrow and if they do take decades.

Now for those that are worried about the Pandas, don't worry! We've got them covered also, no Bamboo comes from anywhere where Pandas roam. Its all harvested from local farms.

Where does the Bamboo come from?

Our Bamboo mainly comes from remote areas in the Sichuan Province in China. Farmers plant bamboo on the outskirts of their land as a way to supplement their income. The cool thing about Bamboo farms is each village has their own pulp factory and no typical industrial clearing is required.

Delivery

Can you deliver to PO Boxes or anywhere without a phyical address?

Unfortunately not, as we use couriers to deliver our parcels they are unable to deliver to these locations

How long will delivery take?

North Island (3-5 business days)

South Island (1-3 business days)

All our orders are tracked, so keep an eye on them via the link!

Why do you offer free delivery to the South Island but not the North Island?

Due to the size of the boxes, shipping them is very expensive.

We are currently located in the South Island therefore Shipping around the South Island is currently much more affordable.

We do believe everyone deserves the comfort of good TP so we've offered the product to the North Island also, but to do so we needed a small shipping cost.

We do have a goal to open a distribution hub up in the North Island, support us now and it could be quicker than we think!

Firstly just double check the tracking link on your order or double check your mailbox. We do have an authority to leave, meaning the couriers can leave your parcel at your home if the believe its safe. However sometimes they forget, or they believed that it wouldn't be safe to leave a parcel at your door or property.

If this is the case your tracking link should advise you what to do next or they'll be a ticket in your mailbox.

If neither of these have happened or your still not sure, please contact us and we'll see if we can locate it for you.
